Selero Routing performs rules-based message routing. It was designed for precise routing based on field-level message content, ease of implementation and real-time control over routing variables. It is an extension to Selero Message Transformation and Processing.

The Challenge

Point-to-point solutions rely on source systems to direct messages to the proper destination. In other words, message routing is performed by application logic written by a developer. That makes message routing expensive and slow to implement and expensive and slow to change. In environments where Selero Message Transformation and Processing is being used and routing requirements are fairly simple, the processing capabilities of that core Selero product can be used. However, as the need to change routing in real-time becomes more important, the number of systems connected goes up, and routing complexity increases, Selero Routing takes rule-based routing implementation speed and adaptability to the next level.

The Solution

One of the great advantages of Selero Routing is that it supports highly adaptive business processing by externalizing the management of business rules. In other words, as firms add new asset classes, new liquidity points such as internalization, new counterparties, new regulatory processes such as Regulation NSM, new applications such as algorithmic trading engines, and so on, they not only need to connect to new systems, but they also need new and different rules for directing trade and message traffic.
